Beaches
Costa Blanca, literally means white coast and there are as many as 100 beautiful beaches on the Costa Blanca. To make it a little easier for you, we have listed some of the most beautiful beaches.
Playa de la Mata
On Playa de la Mata you will find almost as much space as on all other beaches in Torrevieja combined. The fine sandy beach winds along the coast for about 3 km and has a lot to offer at this distance. There is an attractive promenade with several cafes and restaurants, where there is also something to do in the evenings during the high season. If you are more interested in water sports, you will find a good place to surf here. The surf school on the south side of the beach offers various courses.
Santa Pola
South of Alicante you will find Santa Pola, a fishing village of long standing. Fish still plays an important role here. You can see this on the menus of the small restaurants. Caldero is the local specialty, a stew of fish and rice.
But fish is not the only reason to travel to this part of the Costa Blanca. Santa Pola is home to two gems of beaches, Lisa and Tamarit. Both beaches are near the lively port and feature fine sand and blue waters.
Sunbathing can be done there like the best, but water sports like wind and kite surfing are also among the possibilities. And its shallow waters make it a fine sandy beach for families.
Another beautiful beach near Santa Pola is Platja del Carabassi, which is surrounded by salt flats and wetlands. A few beach bars are located there and the southern part is reserved for naturists. The northern part of the gently sloping beach is especially popular with families.
In Guardamar del Segura
Here you will find on a closed several beaches that make up one long beach. If you want to sunbathe out of the wind, this is the place to be. Because about 100 years ago trees were planted on the edge of the beaches. These had to ensure that the dunes were not blown away by the wind. But it also turned out to be a good windbreak. Now all that remains is to find a spot on the 10 km long sandy beach!
Of the 15 beaches in the resort town of Denia, Las Marinas is the most popular. The beach owes this to its many facilities, including a beach bar and sunbeds. You will also find shallow water here, by the way.
Don't like lying among droves of Dutch people, but like to mingle with the locals on vacation? Just outside the Spanish city of Alicante you will find San Juan de Alicante. The golden beach is almost 3 km long and runs from the fishing village of El Campello to the headland Cabo de las Huertas. Of particular note are the natural pools among the rocks, where, according to the lent, the Moore queen used to bathe.
Playa La Zenia (Orihuela Costa)
